Toles Summers and Mitch Ackaway are natives to the area. Toles’ family has been here for six generations, and his father served on Norfolk’s city council and planning commission for three decades. Mitch’s grandparents settled in Norfolk in the early 1900's and had businesses on bustling Granby Street in downtown Norfolk. Their roots are deep, and their relationships are strong.

They formed Casa Builders in 2002, merging Toles’ custom home remodeling and alteration business with Mitch’s commercial and industrial building business. Working together, more and more people started to seek them out for custom home building projects.

“We’re a perfect fit for East Beach,” says Mitch. “We cut our teeth on custom remodeling and additions in the area’s most exclusive neighborhoods where clients and the neighborhoods demand attention to quality and detailed craftsmanship.”
