Sam Cohen of the Joey Corporation has made a lasting mark on the local construction scene. Involved in the building business since 1978, Sam not only personally supervises his jobs, he can also be found at work on each home he builds. Sam is a master of carpentry and his signature is defined by his creativity.

Sam was born and raised in Portsmouth but grew up in Norfolk. After completing his education, he jumped full force into the construction industry and trained under one of the area's most prominent builders, who was a family member. His homes are all over Hampton Roads and he has countless awards to show for it.

Sam believes East Beach is the "most exciting thing to happen here, and that Norfolk will benefit from the neighborhood." Sam is the chairman of the 2004 Homearama to be held at East Beach, is a member of the Tidewater Builders Association board and was recently honored with the Best of Chesapeake
