John and Debbie Harris, a husband and wife building team, were born and raised in Norfolk and currently live in Ocean View. John began working in construction during his college days at Old Dominion University. After graduation, he started his career when he and Debbie opened their construction firm, Real Developments, Inc. in 1994. Most of their work has taken place in Ocean View.

They make a strong team and offer a full-range of services for their clients from design, layout and product selection, Debbie's specialty, to solid, quality construction, John's specialty.

John grew up in West Ghent with a mix of residential and retail similar to East Beach's vision. He loves the sense of community, close-knit neighborhoods offer. That is what attracted him to East Beach. He and Debbie are thrilled to be part of the East Beach team. They like that East Beach is built to be a pleasant and attractive community for kids and families, and that the design lends itself to a gentler pace of life.

Their philosophy is that you build your reputation one client at a time, and you build homes as if you were going to live in each one of them. That's quality control.
