East Beach is a public-private initiative that includes the City of Norfolk,
the Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority, and East Beach Company,
LLC.
East Beach Company, LLC is the the development entity formed by East Beach
Renaissance, LLC and Leyland Norfolk Alliance, LLC.
The local East Beach Company team is comprised of development and design
professionals who have played significant roles in the creation and revitalization
of a consortium of neighborhoods in Hampton Roads. Each member brings extensive
experience in community planning, development, construction, sales, marketing
and management. The principals include D.B. “Bart” Frye, Jr. of
Frye Properties and co-manager of East Beach Company, LLC; Lawrence J. Goldrich
of Larrymore Organization, Alfred Abiouness, president of the engineering
firm Abiouness, Cross and Bradshaw, Inc.; and John Crouse and Burrell Saunders
with CMSS Architects.
Leyland Norfolk Alliance, LLC is a sister company of Leyland Alliance, LLC
of New York. Leyland is a developer and builder of traditional neighborhoods
along the East Coast. Leyland’s principals have worked together for
more than 20 years and specialize in the development of innovative residential
and commercial projects encompassing new construction, renovation, and adaptive
re-use. Principals include Steve J. Maun, Louis G. Marquet, and Howard Kaufman,
East Beach Company, LLC co-manager.
